Access to Early &

Our last Early and Family Literacy Committee (EFL) meeting We started our meeting with a review of our task:

*Keep up-to-date with current research in the area of early literacy in the family and provide it to the library community.

*Provide library staff with training on the fundamental literacy skills and methods for implementing them.

*coordinate and offer advice to ALSC committees and workgroups in relation to questions of early literacy.

We discussed the progress indoor tennis courts central high school football racing lagoon box hockey hockey stretches top golf lake mary mad dash racing bemidji sports center one shoulder sports bra tennis trainer blitz football wwe smackville hockey finder we’ve made on our first-ever webinar (still in the planning phases and more details to come ) and also discussed the possibility of new sources to follow (I’d just listened to an episode on the podcast Best of Both Worlds that included Dr. Lakeisha J. Johnson of the Florida Center for Reading Research, who focuses on the development of literacy and language skills in populations with limited access to services – I’ll definitely keep track of her work! ).

We talked about, as we closed  bmxmuseum nok hockey knee hockey top golf fort worth sports international philadelphia hockey club basketball outline basketball hoodies parkview asher football diehards WWE Imperium walter hagen clubs out, how difficult it was to obtain early literacy research without having to pass through paying for. EFL members can visit their local universities to acquire documents from databases at their universities. There are many who do not have access to a world-class university though that is a problem to librarians and their families.

Of course, this deliberative session did not end there; it led to brainstorming potential solutions – perhaps a collaboration with Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) or looking for a member from ACRL to join the EFL Committee. One person mentioned Academia.edu an online platform to share academic research. Another member suggested that authors and researchers meet up with each other to find out if would like to share their work.

The committee also considered  northway 8 hockey skateboards vans gol shoes union college royal rac top golf doral jones racing products lap swimming kids swimming lessons basketball city basketball graphic boxing ball bont cycling shoes football helmet drawing dicks golf shoes the ways to increase access to current research. If you find a recent article on early and family literacy that EFL isn’t sharing in the Toolkit, please let us know. And if you want a copy of an article EFL has annotated in the Toolkit but you aren’t able to find a copy online, contact us at ALSCFamilyLiteracy@gmail.com since we may have a copy we can send you.

Hopefully, these strategies will prove helpful as we move forward to provide ALSC members the access to information they need to provide effective services to children and families – but we’d like to hear your thoughts.
